Safe Handling & Storage
RDX is shipped as a dry crystalline powder under UN 0223, 1.1D. Store in a cool, authorised explosives magazine away from flames, strong acids or bases. When formulating plastic explosives, maintain ventilation—uncured binders and RDX dust can irritate skin and lungs.
Environmental & Health Notes
Chronic exposure may impact the nervous system and liver; implement closed blending systems and personal protective equipment. Detonation products include CO, CO₂ and NOₓ—use fume-extraction or outdoor ranges to limit operator exposure.
